Past Seer
Vedika Dewan is a Past Reader, someone able to 'see' the echoes left behind by the energy of past actions. She's content with her life in the big city of Cheriton, Reading various trinkets for clients, taking the occasional consulting job with the police, dodging her vile downstairs neighbor, and occasionally getting to order takeout.
Luka Bergmann is a new detective in Cheriton with a deeply ingrained suspicion of Readers. He's thrown out of his comfort zone when he learns that his new partner Escobar regularly works with Vedika to solve high-profile murders. And now they have a serial killer on their hands, one who likes joggers and snapping necks. Whether he likes it or not, they must rely on Vedika for information to crack this case. But then Past Readers start showing up dead. Luka and Vedika will have to find a way to work together to solve this before Vedika ends up in the killer's sights. |

Sierra
It's hard enough being a girl in college, dealing with exams, studies, and the social minefield. It's even harder when you learn that you might be a key figure in a religious revolution.
Jaq, a bookish college student, was raised in a society of various religions with temples on every corner. She scoffs at them all, focusing instead on her studies. But she's been having recurring nightmares about a little girl named Sierra, and when elements of those nightmares appear in reality, she seeks to understand why. Her world is shattered when she unknowingly fulfills an ancient prophecy from an underground religious group that follows what they claim to be the One True God, Deunai. As followers of the only religion that faces persecution, they expect her to lead them to a great warrior who will end their oppression. The Observers, a secret religious society, fight to silence Jaq and discover the identity of the warrior. The followers of Deunai strive to keep Jaq hidden and safe, all the while looking to her for leadership. But Jaq isn’t entirely sure she’s ready to take on this new identity as someone of importance. She’s just an average college student; how could she possibly lead anyone? |
Shattered Existence
In a post-apocalyptic world left behind by an earth-shattering event, Leigh and Cole make their home in a safe, sheltered community. But a nearby settlement decides to stir up trouble, and it's Leigh's head they're after. They'll have to find a way to resolve things before the larger settlement decides to kill everyone they know.
Cole and Leigh know little of the earth-shattering Event which happened generations ago, leveling the planet and leaving behind creatures that dominate the night. All they know is the world they’re left with, scavenging for supplies, fighting off raiders, repairing their home from the previous night’s damage, and hoping the repairs are strong enough to keep the creatures out for one more night. They even pick up a couple stray kids, and despite Leigh’s misgivings, develop a real family. But a nearby settlement comes to their community, seeking justice for a perceived slight. And it’s Leigh’s head they’re after. |
From Dust Rising
The end of the world was heralded by bombs. Not nukes as most assumed, but chemical bombs that devastated the planet’s surface, leaving behind a slowly dying world with caustic gas constantly rising from the ground and dissipating into the air. Any form of shelter, where the gas can condense into a deadly fog, has become too dangerous to risk. The remaining survivors have adapted to life outdoors, on the move, doing their best to stay alive in a world of murderers, Slavers, and zombie-like Ragers that mindlessly destroy anything and anyone they come across.
Ronan has long survived by keeping to himself, happy to use whatever underhanded tricks he can to get the upper hand of anyone he crosses paths with. But then he finds himself stuck with Lily, a pampered lady who knows nothing of survival. Worse, her particular sensitivity to the gas constantly slows them down. Getting her back to her people means riches beyond his dreams, but it also means traveling a little too close to a deadly gang that’s gunning for Ronan. He'll have to find a way to get her safely home before her ignorance gets them both killed. |
