I'm pleased to announce that I will be returning to the annual Florence Festival of Books! This one-day event takes place Saturday, September 23rd from 10 AM to 4 PM. I will have copies of all my physical books there to sell along with free bookmarks!

Check out the website for the festival here. There will be panel discussions, workshops, food, and more. It's well worth checking out! I look forward to seeing you there.

A Voice From the Void

Things have been chaotic in so many ways. New work, new ideas, new disasters, new sickness. I am grateful my household has escaped the worst of it so far, and we are praying for those who haven't. In all this, may we support and encourage each other to keep focused on the light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how faint that light may be. It's there.

Stay home. Stay safe. With love from me to you.

I'm happy to report that, after many months of slowdowns for various reasons, I'm back on track with writing goals! Having energy to function really makes a world of difference.

What is something you've accomplished recently? Brag in the comments so we can all cheer each other on!

Obstacles

Sometimes, things in life don't go the way we hoped.

I've been going through some challenges lately which have dramatically impacted my ability to function in general, much less work on writing projects. I started feeling like a failure, especially on days when I couldn't keep even my simplest resolution of 'do a little.'

But the fact is, I wasn't in a state where I could keep my resolution, and I had to give myself grace. That can be hard for me, and I think it's often hard for many of us: giving ourselves grace. Permission to screw up sometimes. Permission to not have it perfect. Permission to be human.

The good news is, thanks to hard work and support of others around me, I'm seeing significant improvement in my situation. And now I'm practicing what I've learned.

Grace.

Understanding.

Just do what you can and move on.

Peace to you all!
